Going downhill , small portions , ordered large cod and it was tiny . Something is different last two orders I’ve made. Batter is different too. I may give it one more go to see if it’s just chef of or someone away . If it’s bad then I’ll never go back , time to start trying different F&C places. Really disappointed as this has been my fav for a few years . Oh well

Considering I placed my order 3 minutes after the shop opened, the fish was dry, there was a lot of batter with no fish and the batter was burnt in places and chewy. Clearly overcooked in old oil. The fries were also overcooked (rock hard). On the upside the battered sausage and curry sauce was good.

The fish was cold and had very little flesh. The chips were tiny with a lot of potato bits. Will not be ordering from here again. I only gave a one star rating so I could submit this review. The food was horrible.

Unfortunately I can’t give more! Have ordered from Lord Chippy for a number of years and have never been disappointed, until tonight. The cost is higher, portions smaller, fish size is a lot smaller and was more batter than fish ???? the batter was so greasy and over cooked my husband couldn’t eat it all. Delivery was quick and food hot but very poor quality.

Cod was underwhelming on this occassion. Was not crispy or flavorful at all as youd expect from properly deep frying as it should be. Seemed merely heated up in microwave. I notice cod price has gone up 40p, on top of the usual gratuity tip we give the delivery person so hope this is an isolated issue to keep justifying the price rises. Never had a problem with LORDs before.
